The judge told the banker to seek treatment in Nigeria.
A Lagos High Court has declined the request by Erastus Akingbola, former Managing Director ofIntercontinental Bank Plc, to travel abroad for medical treatment.
Justice Adeniyi Onigbanjo ruled that the former bank chief should seek medical attention in any of the specialist hospitals in the country.
“There is no evidence that the applicant (Mr. Akingbola) made any attempt to treat his condition in any of the specialist hospitals in the country,” Mr. Onigbanjo said while delivering his judgment.
“It is certainly erroneous for the applicant to assume that under the circumstances, he had the liberal right to be treated by any medical officer of his choice,” he added.
