DISTURBING: Boko Haram Kill First Female Politician?
Tragedy struck last night when some group of gunmen suspected to be
members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect shot dead a female local
Councilor Hajja Bayayi and carted away her jewelry in north eastern town
of Maiduguri Borno State.
Bayayi who was until her sudden death the councilor representing
Bolori ward 1 was murdered inside her residence in Limanti area of
Maiduguri the state capital.
Commissioner of Police in Borno State, Bala Hassan confirmed the incident on phone from Maiduguri.
“Yes it happened last night during curfew hours. Unknown gunmen
killed a woman politician. We have commence investigation into the
killing”
The Borno Police Chief says the Limanti area of the Metropolis has
been cordon off adding that security patrol has been beefed up in and
around the state to safe guard lives and properties.
Pointblanknews.com gathered that the state governor, Alhaji Kashim
Shettima, recently appointed the slain councillor. She is the first
female politician to have been killed by unidentified gunmen.
