Fashola optimistic about missing TV presenter

State Governor Babatunde Fashola has expressed optimism that the
missing television presenter, Alhaji Rasak Gawat, will be found.
The governor also promised to reward anybody with useful information on Gawat’s whereabouts.
According to a statement by the Special
Adviser to the Governor, Media, Mr. Hakeem Bello, on Monday, the
governor urged residents to be hopeful.
Fashola said, “I am optimistic that we will
find him. I urge everybody to remain hopeful. I know the police are
working. They have some useful information that they are sharing with
me.
“We are pursuing the leads, it may take
time. We are checking every information. So, anybody who has any
information that may lead us to him let us know. My number is
08034301122.”
He said anybody with useful information would be “substantially” rewarded.
Gawat, the anchorman of the NTA Channel 10 popular Ramadan Programme, ‘Edide, E Ji Saari’, was declared missing on Wednesday.
In the same vein, National Council of
Muslim Youth Organisation, in a statement by its state Coordinator,
Abdullai Anifowose, and Secretary, Moshood Abdul-Wasi, has urged people
with information on the TV presenter to release such.
Describing him as a peace-loving
individual, the group said if he was abducted, the abductors should get
in touch with the family.
“The Council and the entire Muslim
community will be willing to arrive at a win-win solution to the current
stalemate,” the group added.
Also, the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria, Lagos State chapter, expressed shock over the incident.
The group’s General Secretary, Mrs. Rahmatallahi Olaniyan, in a statement urged the police to bring Gawat safely to his family.
