The governor also promised to reward anybody with useful information on Gawat’s whereabouts.
According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the Governor, Media, Mr. Hakeem Bello, on Monday, the governor urged residents to be hopeful.
Fashola said, “I am optimistic that we will find him. I urge everybody to remain hopeful. I know the police are working. They have some useful information that they are sharing with me.
“We are pursuing the leads, it may take time. We are checking every information. So, anybody who has any information that may lead us to him let us know. My number is 08034301122.”
He said anybody with useful information would be “substantially” rewarded.
Gawat, the anchorman of the NTA Channel 10 popular Ramadan Programme, ‘Edide, E Ji Saari’, was declared missing on Wednesday.
In the same vein, National Council of Muslim Youth Organisation, in a statement by its state Coordinator, Abdullai Anifowose, and Secretary, Moshood Abdul-Wasi, has urged people with information on the TV presenter to release such.
Describing him as a peace-loving individual, the group said if he was abducted, the abductors should get in touch with the family.
“The Council and the entire Muslim community will be willing to arrive at a win-win solution to the current stalemate,” the group added.
Also, the Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria, Lagos State chapter, expressed shock over the incident.
