Osun state Police Command have beefed up security in Osogbo, the state capital and its environs following the Sunday killing of a businessman and hotelier in the town, Mr. Rasheed Bolarinwa by armed robbers.
The Police have also mounted surveillance in
all parts of the state capital, with a view to unraveling the circumstances surrounding the death of the late businessman and identifying his killers. The presence of detectives was noticed at Alekuwodo and Odi-Olowo areas of Osogbo, where the late businessman had some of his property.
The state Commissioner of Police, Mrs. Kalafite Adeyemi told Daily Sun that the Police had improved the security in the state to prevent further occurrence of such dastardly act and to fish out the killers.
According to her: “Police are already on the trail of the killers of Bolarinwa and we will ensure that the killers do not go scot free. All possible means will be used to fish them out and they will be made to face the wrath of the law, as no sinner will go unpunished.”
The late Bolarinwa, a socialite and hotelier was killed by armed robbers who stormed his house located at Alekuwodo area of Osogbo in the early hours of Sunday.
Although no arrest had been made by the police, the Commissioner of Police assured that the Police would ensure prompt investigation of the matter, just as she urged those with relevant information that could help the police, to volunteer such information.
When the hotel of the late businessman was visited yesterday, some individuals suspected to be detectives were seen parading the premises, and same was the situation at his restaurant located at Odi-Olowo.
The death of the late businessman had paralyzed commercial activities, especially hospitality business in major parts of Osogbo, as shops were closed down by his business associates and partners to mourn his death. The remains of the late Bolarinwa had since been deposited at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital, Osogbo for autopsy.
